Aquatic Resources Network (ARN) has presented some of the forgoing information.
According to ARN: "It's undeniable that water has been used
throughout our history as a modality to elicit the passive transmission
of heat, cold, chemicals, friction, pressure or a combination of the
same by immersing the body or body part."
For practical and political purposes, it is, however, an important
distinction to describe the difference between the use of water as a
passive modality and the use of water for an active procedure. The ARN
term "aquatic therapy" is reserved for the latter or active procedures,
which is how the American Medical Association has chosen to define it.
The AquaDios-MedTM procedures far exceed aquatic therapy and have not, as yet, been collectively described by the AMA.
It is important to note that not all patients or people are
proactive, thus the characteristics and personality of each individual
determines the speed of healing and the vitality found within the AquaDios-MedTM structured physical activities. Most important is the fact that the AquaDios-MedTM
spectrum includes safe activity for fragile elders, the severely
disabled, those unable to perform physically, the powerful athlete and
those simply interested in physical fitness as a preventative medicine
approach to life..
